As a Certified Equine Gestalt Coach, I partner with my horses to help you to break down the barriers that may be keeping you stuck.

'The EGCMethod® is different than any other type of equine coaching you may have experienced or seen. With EGCM the horse is an active partner in the coaching and healing process. Using their combined wisdom and intuition, the EGCM coach and their equine partner will guide you through your experience. Working together, they will help you isolate the unfinished business that is causing you pain or blocking your path to success, good health and happiness. Then, through experiential interaction they will assist you in clearing the energy that has been holding you back or keeping you from your best self.

The Equine Gestalt Coaching Method® was developed by Melisa Pearce, a core founder since 1989, of the horse-human healing movement. The experiential nature of the method involves the horse as an active partner with the coach in the client’s exploratory process. The integrative approach of the equine’s interaction combined with positive coaching, somatic awareness guidance and Gestalt methodology, assists the client in examining their life and choices made with a focus on designing a positive future.'

Recent studies conducted by the HeartMath Institute provide a clue to explain the bidirectional "healing" that happens when we are near horses. According to researchers, the heart has a larger electromagnetic field and higher level of intelligence than the brain:
A magnetometer can measure the heart's energy field radiating up to 8 to 10 feet around the human body. While this is certainly significant it is perhaps more impressive that the electromagnetic field projected by the horse's heart is five times larger than the human one (imagine a sphere-shaped field that completely surrounds you). The horse's
electromagnetic field is also stronger than ours and can actually directly influence our own heart rhythm!

Horses are also likely to have what science has identified as a "coherent" heart rhythm (heart rate pattern) which explains why we may "feel better" when we are around them. . . .studies have found that a coherent heart pattern or HRV is a robust measure of well-being and consistent with emotional states of calm and joy--that is, we exhibit such patterns when we feel positive emotions.

A coherent heart pattern is indicative of a system that can recover and adjust to stressful situations very efficiently. Often times, we only need to be in a horses presence to feel a sense of wellness and peace. In fact, research shows that people experience many physiological benefits while interacting with horses, including lowered blood pressure and heart rate, increased levels of beta-endorphins (neurotransmitters that serve as pain suppressors), decreased stress levels, reduced feelings of anger, hostility, tension and anxiety, improved social functioning; and increased feelings of empowerment, trust, patience and self-efficacy.

“I wasn’t sure what to expect from an online course geared towards a younger audience in horse education, but when I started I was blown away by all the important information to take in. As a beginner I found the subjects incredibly useful, and all the important notes were highlighted really well. The modules were separated into easy to understand topics; they went over a lot that most adults don’t even know, and they challenged you to do some research which was my favorite part! Donna’s eight crash courses on horses goes over so much -- everything from how to love and respect horses in how we treat them to the riding styles, the tack you use and gear you put on the horses, anatomy of the horse, emotions and body language, saddle types, breeds, fun facts such as top speeds, age, and social behaviors, and so much more. There are also workbooks along with the lessons for younger age groups to review the information, but even as an adult they were very useful in quizzing myself as well as getting me to ask questions and research answers. Absolutely cannot wait to get started working with Donna and her lovely horses.  I highly recommend this course for any age as it is easy to read and understand, kids could work through the courses and workbooks easily or even with a parent, but it is also very useful for any adults who are interested as it is filled with important content and gives you an vital perspective into the world of equines!”
